Bachata music is a genre of Latin music that originated in the Dominican Republic. From a rhythmic standpoint, the music is a variation on the slow-tempo bolero sound, though bachateros, or bachata musicians, fold many different musical styles into bachata songs. Today, bachata has absorbed the influence of different Latin and Western music styles, from pop to techno and hip-hop, each of which has increased its tempo and expanded its sound. Spanish pop artist José Manuel Calderon recorded the first-ever bachata songs, “Borracho de Amor” and “Que será de mi (Condena),” in 1962. The singles, which skewed closely in sound to bolero, opened the floodgates to other Pop artists and helped launch the Dominican music industry.

Loco De Amor:

Loco De Amor is an album of Spanish Pop artist Luis Vargas’. He changed his lyrics to more Amargue and romantic topics; as his earlier style focused on songs with double entendres and covered topics that he was heavily criticized for. To note, the double entendre style was made popular by Blas Duran in the 80s. A style that Luis used in releases like El Tomate. With his release of “En Serio” at the beginning of the 90s, he began to start new songs in a more serious style.

La Chupadera

It is a guitar player’s album by famous Spanish Pop artist Anthony Santos.  He is also consider one of the principal effects in Bachata. La Chupadera contains the single “Voy Pa’lla”, the song that helped him rise to worldwide fame. The album also contains some of the most demanding and Bachata Playing of its time. It was also a huge departure from the traditional nylon style of the 80s made famous by Jose Manuel Calderon, Luis Segura, Leonardo Paniagua, and many others.
