One of the most common questions that you will be asked is “why should we hire you?”

Hiring a new employee is an involved process. There are a lot of factors that go into a hiring decision, and an even larger amount of questions an applicant can be asked.

During the interview, a potential employer is going to try and get to know you on a personal level. Not only do they want to see how well you communicate professionally,

but they also want to know your personality so they can determine if you’re going to help promote a culture of openness and encouragement in their company.

Also, it will allow you to express why you would do a good job and fit in at their company as well as explain how you’re going to impact their revenue positively and help them reach their business goals.

1 I am a recent graduate of the school of l Arts and Business at (school name) with a major in business administration and a minor in math. While my coursework has been fundamental in creating me as an outgoing and personable candidate, it also has been directly relevant to the position you are presently looking to fill. 2. Hey, I’m Jared and I’m applying for the event coordinator position. I see that you’re looking for someone with experience in the kitchen. Usually, most people struggle to find candidates who are familiar with dense operations such as yours. I’ve veered away from these types of positions in my previous workplace, but my experiences at my previous workplace will ensure your closing times run smoothly.

3. You should hire me because I am as excited about the position as you are. You see, I’m a fast typer, and I know that you’ve seen that in my cover letter, but what you may not have realized is that I also have several years of experience working at the local hospital—basically if you want to implement new processes and improve wait time like you say your goal is, I can help! And, if you haven’t noticed from my resume, between 2009 and 2010, I improved wait time by 17%, so this is definitely something that I am capable of doing.

It’s never too late to secure a position you want, especially if you are the most qualified. However, winning over the interviewer is not so easy. You should be ready to make the best impression. And that’s why the meaning of your answer should be professional and relevant to the company.
